The Youth Apprenticeship Program empowers students to spur their career success before they even leave high school. Facilitated through Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) and the Maryland Department of Labor, the program creates paid opportunities for FCPS high school Juniors and Seniors to “earn while they learn” at worksites alongside experienced mentors. Apprenticeships enable students to cultivate both experience and confidence within a chosen pathway, ultimately paving the way to gainful employment.
“The Youth Apprenticeship Maryland pilot program in Frederick County is an important and exciting new avenue for investment in the skills and talent of the next generation of Frederick County workers.”
–Former Maryland Labor Secretary, Kelly M. Schulz
